There is a correct way to do our corner, and it takes about four minutes to learn. Morning one: cross the street to Café Regina, order a cortadito, and ask what's on pour-over — then take it back to the courtyard while the pool is still glass. Do not rush this. The crosswalk is the whole commute; act accordingly.
By noon, cross back for Hilda. Go a little early, order the sandwich of the day without reading the rest of the menu (you can be strategic tomorrow), and carry it to a lounger or the beach — the sand is two minutes the other direction. By day three you'll have opinions. By day four the counter will know your order, which is the real amenity.
The corner rewards repetition. Most hotels sell you a neighborhood you visit once; ours is one you commute across in sandals until it starts to feel like a routine you'll miss.
